I am Marin Paladi, an attorney at law in sole practice in Chisinau. I provide legal advice and representation before the courts, the criminal investigation bodies and the public authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

My practice covers civil litigation, debt recovery and inheritance matters, defence in criminal and administrative-offence cases, family and employment matters, and challenges to administrative acts. Every case starts with the same question: what result is realistic, and what is the shortest route to it.

  • How much does a lawyer's consultation in Chisinau cost?

    The fee depends on the complexity of the matter and the workload, and the amount is agreed before the legal assistance contract is signed. The first phone call, in which I learn what happened and tell you whether I can help, is not charged.

  • How do I book a consultation?

    Call 079 952 999, write on Telegram, Viber or WhatsApp, or fill in the form in the Contact section. I reply the same working day and we agree a time at the office or online.

  • Do you work with clients living abroad?

    Yes. For citizens of the Republic of Moldova living abroad I hold consultations online, prepare documents on the basis of a power of attorney and represent you before the courts here without you having to travel.

  • Which languages can I speak with the lawyer in?

    I work in Romanian, Russian and English — both in consultations and in correspondence with the courts and public authorities.

  • How long do court proceedings take?

    It depends on the type of case, the court and the conduct of the opposing party. At the first assessment you receive a realistic range for each stage and for any appeals; I do not promise deadlines I cannot control.

  • What should I do if I have been detained or summoned for questioning?

    Call before giving any statement. You have the right to a lawyer from the first moment of detention, and their presence at questioning, at a search or when preventive measures are applied changes a case more than anything that can be repaired later.

  • How do I recover a debt from someone who will not pay?

    It starts with a formal payment notice. If that has no effect, a court action follows, or a court order for undisputed sums, and it ends with enforcement through a judicial enforcement officer.

  • Which documents should I bring to the first meeting?

    Your identity card and everything connected to the situation: contracts, receipts, correspondence, summonses, official reports, judgments. Even if the file is incomplete, come with what you have — the rest is gathered as we go.

  • Can I challenge an administrative fine?

    Yes. The official report is challenged in court within the term set by the Contravention Code, which runs from the date it was served. I check the grounds for the fine and how the report was drawn up, then tell you whether challenging it is worthwhile.

  • What does a legal retainer for a company include?

    An agreed monthly volume of services — advice, drafting contracts, formal notices, dealings with public authorities — at a cost set from the outset, with a preferential rate for anything beyond the retainer. The terms of each tier are in the Plans section.
